X-TropicaTM is a new and innovative bioengineered yeast from BSI, specially designed to enhance and amplify tropical flavor profiles during fermentation. Using A-56 Chico as the modified base strain, X-TropicaTM has been genetically refined to utilize precursors present in malt and hops to significantly boost tropical flavors like passion fruit, black currant, grapefruit, and guava to as much as 2.5 times the levels found in the base strain. The result is an intensely tropical flavor profile using only the malt and hops already present in most beers — negating the need for excessive hop loads or fruit additions. This technology can help improve beer yields and reduce ingredient costs without modifying your brewing process or extending tank residency times for long dry-hops.
