This is an entry level position that does not require a degree however restaurant kitchen experience is helpful. As a Pre-production Assistant, you will assist the department in preparing media, clean tools and utensils for production, so you will work with autoclaves, commercial dishwasher, ovens and other equipment. You will be responsible in performing tasks cautiously and accurately to ensure quality control. Employee must follow and adhere to established protocol and rules. Attendance and punctuality are crucial. You must be able to work independently, without direct supervision. Must be able to work under time constraints, work as a team member and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. A PA requires a flexible schedule as overtime and scheduled changes are likely to take place based on production.

Job performance and evaluations are based on ability to perform and adhere to basic job requirements as follows but not limited to:

DUTIES:

  • Clean and sterilize propagation equipment and supplies as instructed per SOP’s
  • Mix propagation growth media
  • Fill media modules and sterilize media in autoclaves
  • Clean pipets and make ice packs
  • Clean equipment on regular basis from malt debris
  • Operate propagation washer and clean propagators
  • Work the “Fill Water” station
  • Unload and move malt off freight trucks and in facility as designated
  • Maintain lab maintenance, organization and cleanliness in all departments (including recycling)
  • Participate in educational and promotional events
  • Maintain a clean department (which includes mopping floors and cleaning stainless steel)
  • Communication with management/staff on daily basis both verbally and in writing
  • Work special projects
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned and directed

Work Conditions:  Work is primarily performed in a laboratory environment. Standing for long periods of time, bending, using a step stool for hard to reach areas, lifting a minimum of 50lbs, repetitive motion and other physical tasks as directed will be necessary. You may be asked but not required to taste beer for analysis purposes only. You must be 21 years of age for tasting. Use of gloves and/or goggles is required when using chemicals. Reliable transportation required.

Wage: Position starts at $17.00 per hour.

Job Title: Microtechnologist

Position Summary:
This is a hands-on production role focused on the propagation, packaging, and quality control of brewer’s yeast. Tasks are repetitive by nature, and efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards are essential. Team members must follow all established policies and procedures, including attendance, scheduling, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Cross training across all production departments is required. The role demands strong communication skills, attention to details, a positive team attitude, and the ability to work independently under time constraints. Occasional overtime may be necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or a related scientific field
  • 2 years of commercial brewing experience may substitute for the degree
  • Availability to work on both weekend days

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute all stages of yeast propagation, including cleaning, sanitizing, sterilizing, growing, and packaging
  • Feed and monitor yeast cultures
  • Perform quality control tasks such as cell counts and contamination checks
  • Follow all SOPs, GMP, and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment
  • Support general laboratory maintenance
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Participate in training, educational events, and industry promotions
  • Contribute to special projects.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Work Conditions:
This position is based in a production lab setting. Duties involve standing for extended periods, bending, using step stools, lifting up to 50 lbs, and repetitive physical tasks. PPE including gloves and goggles is required when working with chemicals. You may be asked—but are not required—to taste beer for organoleptic analysis (must be 21+). Reliable transportation is required.

The Shipping Assistant helps prepare and execute daily outgoing shipments timely and accurately and must maintain a low error record. Must be able to work under time constraints and able to work without direct supervision. Customer service experience is required as you will communicate directly with the carrier representatives and customers directly over the phone and by email. You must have good computer skills to operate shipping software and be able to problem solve computer and printer issues.

FM Tech Job Description

Facilities maintenance operation requires completing daily assigned duties. You will be responsible for performing tasks cautiously and accurately. Employee must follow and adhere to established protocols and rules. You must be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing. You will also need to communicate openly and clearly with management and co-workers. A FM Tech must have the ability to plan and work in an efficiently and timely manner. You must be able to perform all required duties and must be flexible in completing other tasks as directed and assigned. Must be able to work under time constraints and able to work without direct supervision. Position is on call and may require overtime. Job performance is based on ability to perform and adhere to basic job requirements as follows but not limited to:
